Here is another one of my photos I
shot in Mexico last week. These tubes looked very enticing but they were
extremely dangerous! hahah They would lure you in like a siren singing
and there might be one or two good little tubes if you were lucky but it was
risky because you never knew when that huge set out the back was going to come.
Only the smaller waves (still about 10-12 feet) would break clean like this.
Then, when you would least expect it, there would be dark shadow brewing out on
the horizon. It looked like all the water in the ocean was sucking up as giant
boulders became exposed. That's when you'd have to just paddle your butt off
and hope you could get out far enough to make it under the monster waves racing
toward you like a tsunami! If you did get caught inside when the big set
finally did come then all you could do was 'breathe up' preparing yourself to
hold your breath and hope that a jet ski could get to you before you were
pushed into the rocks on the inside of the island.
Overall we had a great time and it was refreshing to finally get some solid surf! We were way past due! ^_^
