Big Wave Surfing Todos Santos epic wipeouts January 2014 swell

Here is another one of my photos I shot in Mexico last week. These tubes looked very enticing but they were extremely dangerous! hahah  They would lure you in like a siren singing and there might be one or two good little tubes if you were lucky but it was risky because you never knew when that huge set out the back was going to come. Only the smaller waves (still about 10-12 feet) would break clean like this. Then, when you would least expect it, there would be dark shadow brewing out on the horizon. It looked like all the water in the ocean was sucking up as giant boulders became exposed. That's when you'd have to just paddle your butt off and hope you could get out far enough to make it under the monster waves racing toward you like a tsunami! If you did get caught inside when the big set finally did come then all you could do was 'breathe up' preparing yourself to hold your breath and hope that a jet ski could get to you before you were pushed into the rocks on the inside of the island.


Overall we had a great time and it was refreshing to finally get some solid surf! We were way past due! ^_^

Todos Santos Mexico Big Wave Surfing January 25, 2014 Epic Swell (+playl...

Last week's swell hit southern California and Mexico hard last weekend January 25, 2014! The big swell produced some unbelievable waves up and down the coast and all the top surfers were on it! My best friend Austin and I were both hungry for some bigger waves so we decided to head down to Mexico and try to score some big surf, It was epic to say the least. Todos Santos produced a couple macking sets on Saturday January 25, 2014 with some of the biggest waves looking 20ft+ out the back. Timmy Reyes and few other of the top surfers at Todos made monster barrels look easy. It was definitely the biggest swell of the year so far and had some of the biggest waves all year from all over the pacific! Jaws had some 60ft waves last week and the Mavericks contest had big waves as well! I hope you guys were able to paddle out and score at all your home breaks! The entire drive down to Mexico I had my faced pressed to the window, drooling at all the perfect point breaks we were passing! hahah A lot of amazing big waves last weekend, It was definitely needed ^_^
P.S- 
Sorry the camera is a bit shaky =/ I did my best trying to keep it steady. It was challenging to shoot on the boat because it kept rocking in the big waves! haha it was frustrating at times ^_^  but hey, if that was the worst part of my day then I am extremely blessed and there is a lot to be thankful for =)

Todos Santos Big Wave Surfing Wipeouts January 25, 2014 Swell

Here is a video of a few surfing wipeouts from the big swell down in Mexico last weekend January 25, 2014 

My buddy Austin and I decided to head down to Mexico to hopefully catch some bigger waves. We scored great waves and had a lot of fun! These are a few of the the wipeouts from where we surfed on Saturday. Todos Santos, Mexico.
