Wizzard at the beach

I know it might seem silly for me to be this attached to my pet rabbit Wizzard, but he had so much personality! It was amazing, I never knew that rabbits could show as much love as this guy did to me! He helped me through some rough times in my life when I really didn't have anyone.
WIzzard loved the beach, he was so good too! He would never run away from me or hide or anything! He would just stretch out in the sand and watch me surf ^_^
It grieves me to inform you that Wizzard is no longer with me. I found out that he was viciously torn to pieces by a heartless savage raccoon =8(
 I found out through a phone call to my work, the day before I was to return home from living on Catalina Island for three months. I was counting down the days until I could finally see him again and on the last day I received the news.. The time I had with this little guy was priceless though and I am very thankful I had the chance to adopt him! I guess the saying is true, "It's better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all." We had some pretty epic beach adventures together and I will always cherish the time I had with Wizzard.
R.I.P Wizzard, you were the best pet I've ever loved!

This is a family from Scotland that we taught how to surf this summer. The excitement and   pure joy they felt while surfing was so intense it was almost palpable. John, the eldest boy, was born without any arms or legs. & the youngest brother is already a leuceimia survivor.
The eldest boy John was born without any arms or legs and he wanted to surf so we took him out and got him some awesome waves! He was very thankful and said it was a once in a lifetime opportunity for him and that riding a wave felt like he was flying in a dream!
The happiness that radiated out of them while they experienced surfing for the 1st time really put things into perspective for me. It reminded me how blessed & made me realize how thankful I am for everything that I have in my life.

                I've grown up at the beach in southern Ca and live close to some great freediving beaches, so I'm always in the ocean! I went down to the beach to go freediving yesterday and check out a few underwater caves. I've been trying to test out my new gopro hero 3+ black edition as much as I can recently! It was pretty good visibility underwater but the inside of this one cave was black. Luckily I had my new dive light with me. As I approached the cave I was going to swim through I was surprised by a harbor seal who stuck his head out. It startled me but I continued on my way. As I swam through the underwater cave I was filming I turned on my light because it went dark. As I flipped on my light I was surprised by the Harbor Seal a second time! I ended up crossing paths with the same Harbor Seal again inside the cave! He definitely startled me at first because I was not expecting to see him! I think he must have been fishing for some lobsters because they were everywhere in there! You can see the seal looking for lobsters in the underwater cave at 00:30 Please give it a thumbs up if you enjoyed it!

I think he might have been looking for lobsters, he seemed to be looking around at them inside the cave. He was not even startled one bit when I first noticed him in the cave! I definitely jumped more than he did, but then I calmed down and backed out of the cave and the harbor seal and I looked at each other as if happy to see one another. It was a very moving experience that I will never forget for the rest of my life! ^_^ I love the ocean!

Here is a photo I snapped while freediving! It's a horn shark sleeping next to a juvenile garibaldi!

                    You can tell it's a juvenile horn shark because of the spots. When they are fully grown adults they are solid grey in color. Horn sharks are nocturnal sharks so that is why this little guy is tucked away sleeping in this photo ^_^

 These guys are fast!  American Bison wildlife fact video. We were filming this bison from a distance giving him plenty of space so we did not disrupt him and all of a sudden he turned and charged us! Check it out and let me know what you think! We crossed paths with this beautiful animal while camping at the highest point on Catalina Island. (Orizaba)

Breathing 15 feet underwater in an underwater cave air pocket!

This is a short video of an underwater air pocket that I found in an underwater cave, it was definitely one of the coolest things I have ever experienced while free diving underwater caves!  It was weird to trust taking taking a breath when I was already15 feet underwater, but it worked!
